In this live online session, our instructors guides learners through the principles and application of responsible mining practices across the mining value chain.
Learners will examine how responsible mining supports shared value, improves risk management, and strengthens long-term value creation for companies and communities alike, and practice tools and techniques to embed this across their own organisations. You will learn about responsible sourcing, stakeholder engagement, and global reporting standards used across mining, investment, and sustainability reporting landscapes that can be leveraged to improve real life results.
Utilising real-world case studies and principles from across internationally recognised frameworks, legal requirements, and global reporting standards applied across the mining sector and beyond, this course will explore how you can align mining activities with regulatory, stakeholder, and sustainability expectations.
Key Topics include:
- Key principles of responsible mining and the business case for good practice
- Stakeholder engagement and managing social and environmental risks
- Responsible sourcing and supply chains
- Legal and voluntary frameworks and reporting standards (e.g. NI 43-101, CMSI, IRMA, ISSB, Dodd-Frank Act, Kimberley Process)
- Integrating ESG and responsible mining into corporate strategy
